Slave sale
What was slave sales
Slavery in America began when the first African slaves were brought to the
North American colony of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619, to aid in the production
of such lucrative crops as tobacco. Anyway, A slave sale was like an
Auction were there would be a sales man who would advertise the slaves. The salesman
would often speak realy fast so it would sound like a kind of made up langauge. Then there
would be the bidders, the rich men, they would buy the slaves and take them home
as there proporty there they would mark them with mabe a hot metal stamp which would
burn there skin therefore making a mark which ment it was hard for a slave to escape
from there rightful home (of torture) but even without being marked it would be hard for
the slave to escape as slaves were always black.

There were two main types of
slave Auction:
1. Those that sold to the
highest bidder
2. Grab and go Auctions
1. In this style of auction you would have a cage full of slaves. One by one they would be taken out and displayed the sales man would advitise and shout the person who bidded the most would get the slave.
2. In this style auction you would buy a slave ticket or as many as you require. Then you would queue up outside a cage full of slaves. At the sound of a drum roll you would run in and grab the slaves you wanted providing you had the right amount of tickets for them. The only way a slave could get out would be if the owner were to show the ticket for the slave then the slave would go home with the master.
